The Christian Bible says it clearly, "In the beginning God created..."   It is only natural that inside every human is a "creative urge."

 

This small format provides a simple exploration of some basic components for the would be artist, accompanied by devotional writings to help in the discovery and development of a faith in response to that deep seated 'creative urge.'

 

This grew out of a pilot project to reach out into a community to share the good news of hope, beauty and possibilities through creative expression.

I remember seeing in an outreach to the homeless under an overpass in a major city a miracle. All around were people hurting, lost, and in need of something beautiful.  Out of a stretch of cracked asphalt, a tiny flower had emerged and was standing tall and proud in the sunshine with a bloom filled with sunshine bright color.

That can be how it is with people. All around may be disasters, problems and challenges and art provides a glimpse into the maybe, the possible, and the hope that makes the impossible real. 

CREATIVE URGE encourages people to explore and discover the beauty around them. We believe that what motivates the artist will come through as bright as a light in the work they create. Pencil, chalk, ink, arcylic, oil, camera, or crafting materials - make a difference!
