ARTIST SUPPLIES – SOME BASICS
Brushes - Golden Taklon value pack brushes with the blue label. Also, Crafter's Choice, Royal Langnickel which can be used for acrylic, watercolors, etc.
1) for background - set of 3 brushes RCC-215, wash set, 1/2", 3/4" 1"
2) Same brand RCC-214, set of 4 brushes, angular 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2"
These value packs can be purchased at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. They are around $5/pack. Can use store coupon from newspaper or online for discount. The same pack of brushes is under $3/pack at Porch's School Supplies located at 5200 N. Santa Fe. They are open M-F, 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Call before you go to Porch's to see if the brushes are in stock. 524-3309
Paper - Canvas or Acrylic paper. It comes in pads of various sizes - like 9" x 12" and 12" x 16".
Art tips:
Brush cleaner – Simple hair conditioner works very well for cleaning and conditioning brushes and is much cheaper than the art products sold in stores. Also, Dawn dishwashing liquid is another good substitute. These have many of the same products used in the more expensive products.
